What we do and where we do it
Our 100% recycling service is a weekly kerbside recycling collection service for businesses. We come every week just like your domestic waste collectors. You leave your recyclable waste in bags, boxes or bins, in an accessible place and our collectors pick it up and take it to an approved recycling centre. We currently operate in the following areas:
-

Dorset. Swanage, Corfe Castle, Wareham, Lychett Matravers, Bere Regis, Weymouth, Dorchester, Blandford, Wimborne, Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch.
- Hampshire. All of the New Forest, Southampton, Eastleigh, Winchester, Alton.
- Surrey. Farnham only at present.
- South West London. Isleworth, Twickenham, Teddington, Ham, East Sheen, Barnes, Kingston, Chessington, Ewell, Cheam, Sutton, Wallington, Mitcham, Morden, Croydon.
How often?
Our collection vehicles do a regular weekly round and you can choose whether to have a weekly or fortnightly collection.
What can be recycled?
On this service we collect the following 5 categories of waste:
- Paper. All types and colours. Shredded, non shredded, magazines, brochures, directories, envelopes with windows.
- Cardboard. Smaller pieces of cardboard in bags and larger pieces in boxes as shown in the photo.
- Polythene. Clear or coloured.
- Soft plastics. (2-HDPE and PET) plastic milk bottles, plastic drinks bottles. Should be washed.
- Cans. Aluminium and tin. Must contain no liquid.
Categories 4 and 5 may be mixed in the same bag but please do not mix any other categories.
How do we do it?
We provide you with large, strong, clear polythene sacks into which you can put any kind of paper, or small pieces of cardboard, or polythene, or soft plastics, or cans. Notice we say ‘or' not ‘and'. This is because if these categories are bagged separately there is no need for us to re-sort the waste and we can keep the cost to you very low.
For larger pieces of cardboard we recommend stacking flattened boxes in an unflattened box. For this we provide you with self-adhesive labels so our collectors know to collect them.
Many of our customers prefer to have one of our bins. Cardboard can be left loose in these bins but the other categories still need to be bagged separately before being placed in the bin. We can provide wheeled bins of all sizes from 140 litre to 1100 litre four wheeled Eurobins. We do not charge rentals.
How do you pay for this service?
We provide our bags and stickers in multiples of 26 and charge per bag or sticker. The price we charge covers one empty of each bag or one-time use of a box sticker. (It would be very wasteful - and we hate waste - to only use the bags once so we designed them to be used many times over so do not be surprised if the bags you receive have been used before.)
You can buy as many bags or stickers as you want and you can put out for collection as many or, as few bags, as you wish*.
For customers who use more than 3 bags or stickers every week we would recommend a fixed price paid on a monthly standing order as this would be more economical for you. Call Alex Marlow FREE on 0808 178 1088 if you wish to discuss the options available to you.
*This service is subject to an annual minimum of 52 bags or stickers as it is not cost effective to offer the service for any business that is not producing an average of one bag or box per week.
100% Recycling service FAQs
"What can I put out for recycling?"
The categories of waste that we accept are listed above
"What cannot be taken for recycling?"
We are currently unable to recycle the following (but we are working on it): Hard plastics, Vinyl, Polystyrene, sweet wrappers, crisp packets and foil should not be placed in any bags as these also cannot be recycled (despite what it may say on the wrapper).
"What about glass?"
If you are likely to have a minimum of one wheely bin of glass per month we can arrange a separate collection but we cannot take glass on this service.
"Where should I put my bags for collection?"
You should place your bags, or boxes of cardboard, on the pavement. If you are unable to do this you must make an arrangement with the collectors to leave your bags in an alternative convenient and visible place.

"When should I put my bags out?"
Our collectors start at 6am each morning. We will advise you if your collection is likely to be before you are open. If this is the case you must remember to put your bags out the night before. We send reminder emails if you register on our web site.
"How should I present cardboard for collection?"
Do not bag larger pieces of cardboard. Flatten the boxes and stack them in one unflattened box. Attach an empty bag, or sticker, so we know it is for collection. If there is no bag or sticker attached the cardboard will not be collected. The box of cardboard should not weigh more than 15kgs and should not be too large for one person to lift comfortably.
"Can I put out more than 1 bag per week?"
Yes. You can put out as many bags as you like and we will collect them.
"Does the bag have to be sealed?"
The regulations state that waste must not spill onto the highway. We will supply bag ties on request but string or elastic bands are acceptable.
"What if need more bags?
No problem. This web site has a bag ordering page, or, you call us free on 0808 178 1088. In addition you can send an email to us.
"Can I have a bin to store my bags and cardboard in?"
Yes. We have bins of various sizes available. Ring Alex on 0808 178 1088 for details. See below for photos of bins.
"Can I pay a fixed monthly fee by standing order?"
If you are likely to produce an average of 3, or more, bags every week, we will suggest a monthly fixed fee which may be paid by standing order if you wish.
"Can I pay by BACS/Internet banking?"
Yes. All our invoices show our bank details at the bottom. We are very happy for customers to pay by BACS or Internet Banking.
"Can I pay by cheque?"
Yes. Our address is shown on all our invoices. However, it is much greener if you pay by BACS, internet transfer or standing order. Also this will use less paper and postage and reduce your bank charges.
"Can I have my invoice sent by E-mail?"
Yes. Just let us know the email address you would like your invoices to be sent to.
"How long can bags are left on the pavement?"
The regulations state that waste should not be left on the public highway for more than 2 hours after 8am or before 6pm. In practice most council enforcement officers allow longer because they know that collectors can sometimes get held up. You will quickly get to know what time we are likely to arrive and when to put your bags out.
"What legal paperwork will I receive?"
We will provide you with a signed certificate stating that your business is recycling and we will supply you with Duty of Care forms (WTNs) which are the legal documents that detail how you have disposed of your waste. You must retain these for a minimum of 2 years. Authorities such as Environmental Protection Officers and Police can demand to see your Waste Transfer Notes at any time.
